According to authorities, one person has died and the other is being transported to the hospital. Family members say the couple who lived in the home is Gordon and Linda Evans. Family members tell WINK News Linda’s death was caused by the fire and Gordon was taken to Tampa General Hospital for his burns and smoke inhalation. The fire happened at the Evans’ home on W. Jersey Road. WINK News is told when fire crews arrived flames were shooting through the roof. Neighbor Roberto Rodriguez says he went inside the home to see if anyone was inside. “The door was open and I called out loud and nobody answered so I called 911,” said Rodriguez. “It was a lot of smoke, thick, thick smoke,” he said. Fire officials still do not know what caused the fire and the Fire Marshall is now investigating.
