In May, we learned that Collier County would be turning our creek into part of the stormwater drainage system. The trees on both banks of the creek will be bulldozed and burned. Our back yard will have a service road just outside our lanai, where all the animals and birds forage now. And while we will lose the beauty outside our windows, the myriad species of birds and fish will lose their homes. With no plants to protect them, they will have no place to roost; and with the canal paved and blocked off, they will have nothing to feed on. Work has begun already, but the bulldozers will begin the real destruction in January. Please help us find someone who can tell us if we'll be losing any endangered animals! We are desperate for your help!
