Chinese Drywall Solution - Town Hall Meeting!
FT. MEYERS, FL – On Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel - 13051 Bell Tower Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33907, (239)-482-2900; www.cpfortmyers.com, at 7:00 p.m.. Philip King and Jeff Adams have organized a Town Hall Meeting to present a new Chinese Drywall solution to West Florida residents. King, a Louisiana native (yet, Florida resident since 1994); and Adams, (a Florida Certified General Contractor) felt compelled to find a remedy for thousands of home owners facing the daunting task of resolving the “Chinese Drywall issue.” After prompting by local home owners, and sensing that the problem is not only affecting individual home owners; but entire counties, (since taxes are being based on property value assessments) King and Adams have indeed found an option that bears serious consideration.
Hence, the AbShield™ L.L.L.P., Southwest Division has generously offered to present a “Town Hall” meeting to address questions, concerns, and dispel myths for area residents. The group will discuss, the AbCoat™ System Advantage - Molecular Remediation Process©
AbShield™, colleagues, research and development teams have been reviewing reports of odorous drywall first issued in the last quarter 2006, when the suspect products first surfaced. They continued to follow and track the issue from the point in time when reports of allegedly defective Chinese gypsum board products skyrocketed in the media during the last quarter of 2008, to the present. Their review of the issues is perpetual and will remain uninterrupted as they pave the way to feasible resolution. The need to address the issue with less-destructive measures was immediately recognized by AbShield™. The “let's use science instead of hammers,"© philosophy was, and continues to be the motivation driving the company's concepts. This viewpoint is the pilot for their mission statement and resolution methodology.
Company Mission Statement
The mission is to provide a more proactive and less-destructive solution to address the reported problem, whereas the affected buildings would not have to be gutted, removing interior finishes, fixtures and ultimately the board products; thus, maintaining the integrity of the interior elements, acceptable air quality and in the end improving the acidic environment affecting mechanical system function ability.
Company Resolution Methodology
The need to address the issue at the gypsum board, in lieu of treatments that may only address the atmospheric conditions, was recognized. The AbCoat™ system addresses the board surfaces on both sides, including the concealed spaces at interior wall locations and floor ceiling assemblies.
The method proposed to neutralize the result of residual off-gassing involves the application of absorbent materials in the form of activated organic powders and coatings (solids). The engineered coating system developed to accomplish this task includes the AbCoat™ SI-201 and AbCoat™ GS-504 products.
