My husband was sentenced in lee county court by judge Schoonover to 20 years in prison for a car accident in 2005 where a person was killed and to others injured. However the driver of the other vehicle had a higher blood alcohol level than that of my husbands. 20 years that just unbelievable our systems gives premeditated murders time like this and rape a child and you'll be out in 2 to 3. This was an accident it was by no nature a violent crime or one of content. This will cost taxpayers $600,000 I'M not saying he shouldn't receive punishment I'm saying that he felt the other driver also contributed to this accident so he took it to trial instead of taking the plea he was offered. I feel he was not only punished for the actions of all 4 people involved but he was also punished for going to trial. There is no JUSTICE!!!!!!! He is not a cold blooded killer. He is a wonderful father, local business owner a community volunteer and a contributor of many charitable events. This has ruined so many lives.
