Just a short note that I thought may be news worthy in today’s economy. I was at the job fair yesterday held at the fairgrounds, among the other thousands looking for a job. There was not much there; however, there were a couple of women there handing out these rubber wristbands that say on one side, I NEED A JOB and on the other side, LAID OFF NEED A JOB. These women were there out of the goodness of their hearts. Being laid off themselves, they came up with this idea. One woman gave me more ideas to get my resume noticed when sending it out than any professional could probably give. When she put the wristband on my wrist, she said do not take it off until you get a job and tell your family and friends about our website. When I got home, I immediately went to their website because they told me they had tips when interviewing. I want to tell you, I am so glad I went out in the pouring rain to this job fair, because these two women gave me the best advise that I have gotten in the past 6 months since I got laid off. I feel like now when I go out and run errands, I am not wasting time with my bracelet on because everyone will see it.
