Tami Lahey and Dayna Grigsby, twirlers in the Naples Sunsation Baton Twirling Group have just Qualified at the AAU Junior Olympic State Competitionin Winter Haven, FL. They now will compete in the AAU Junior Olympic Games! The Junior Olympics will be held in August in Des Moines, Iowa.
Tami won 1st Place in Basic Stut, Military March and Fancy Strut. She took 4th in Solo. She also won the Titles of All Star Miss, All Star Miss Strut and All Star Miss Twirler. Tami competed last year at the Junior Olympics and won 2 Gold Medals, a Silver Medal and a Copper Medal. "Although Tami is my daughter, I expect her to work as hard as everyone else" the Coach of Naples Sunsation, Roseann Lahey said. "Tami has pure talent and natural grace which makes her easy to coach".
Dayna won 1st in Basic Strut, Military March and Fancy Strut in her age group at the Junior Olympic Qualifiers! "Dayna has only been twirling for 7 months and has accomplished so much" said her Coach, Roseann Lahey. "She has heart, dedication and talent. Those three things make a Champion! Big things are in store for Dayna". Dayna has family in Des Moines so this will be a wonderful opportunity for her family to see her in action.
