I work at First United Methodist Church in downtown Fort Myers. We were thrilled when we figured out from the street closings that the motorcade would likely go right by our church.

The staff of the church and the children and staff of our Preschool all went out to watch the President go by in the morning and in the afternoon when he left. We were standing along Fowler Street, just south of First Street.

If you look carefully, you can see President Obama waving at the children and the rest of us standing there.

One of the children was disappointed that the President didn't stop and talk to them! That was very precious!

I think this was an exciting day for the people of Fort Myers!
