Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity Celebrates World Habitat Day
The United Nations has designated the first Monday in October each year as World Habitat Day. Please consider attending these exciting World Habitat Day events in our county, sponsored by Charlotte County Habitat. All events will take place on Monday October 6, 2008:
Abrahamic House Kick-Off 10/6/08, 8:30 a.m., 3497 Faith St, Port Charlotte: The build is a cooperative Habitat for Humanity project, enlisting members of the Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths of Charlotte County.
BLOW-OUT SALE and FREE HOT DOG LUNCH at Habitat ReSale Store, 1750 Manzana Ave, Punta Gorda and at the Home Improvement Center, 1354 El Jobean, Port Charlotte. Store Hours are 9 am – 5 pm, and the Hot Dog lunch will be served between 11 am - 2 pm (while supplies last).
Candlelight Vigil at Laishley Park, in Punta Gorda 6 – 7 p.m. – This event will both celebrate those who have worked so hard to maintain a safe home for their family, as well as reflect on the state of our county and the basic right to adequate shelter for all.
The mission of Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity is to end substandard housing in Charlotte County, through God’s love and direction. That mission is achievable with the hard work, donations and prayers of our supporters. Thank you!
