About 6 months ago there was a big to-do in our NW Cape Coral neighborhood. Habitat for Humanity came in with their trucks and signs, working dilligently to prepare 3223 NW Juanita Place for their new residents. They worked so hard and then they all had a nice party to welcome the new family to the neighborhood. How wonderful. Those Habitat for Humanity people are such do gooders. What would we do without organizations like them?
I'll tell you what we would do.....In this particular case, we all might have slept a little better at night.
Today when I checked my mail I received a nice little piece of mail from the City of Cape Coral. It was a flyer. A sexual preditor informational flyer. The ones they send out to let you know that you have a predator living within 1/4 mile of your residence. If you've ever received one of those before, you know how I feel. Well, today when I received mine and read it over I noticed that the address looked as though it may be that Habitat for Humanity House. I got in my car, drove to the address and "lo and behold" I was right. Habitat for Humanity provided home ownership of a 150k house in a nice, quiet neighborhood to GEORGE SHEPPARD, a 300 lb. sexual predator whose offense was lewd and lascivious behavior with a child UNDER 16.
