Just kicking back on a Saturday afternoon and boom! A 30 foot Queen Palm falls onto our driveway. We were not really thinking about trees falling after the storm. But the saturated ground is causing a watch-out-above situation. This same tree fell during Hurricane Charley, and has been doing great since we put it back up. Upon examination of the root structure, there really did not appear to be much holding this palm in.
So, my advice is to pay attention to where your kids are playing, your cars are parked, and to property that is near palm trees. Pay special attention to any palms that may have been uprighted after previous storms.
