Charlotte County Habitat has had a record-breaking year on the number of homes it has built and the number of families served.
Due to so many homes being constructed by Habitat, in Charlotte County, and the fact that these homes have been completed so quickly, Charlotte County Habitat is also breaking records this month, with all of the House Dedications that are scheduled to take place.
Charlotte County Habitat holds a House Dedication for each new homeowner, as they move into their home. The House Dedication is a program that lasts from 30-45 minutes, and usually consists of an Opening Prayer and short devotional time, by either the homeowner’s minister, or a local pastor. Charlotte County Habitat’s Executive Director, Mike Mansfield brings a word of congratulations to the new homeowner, and often a Habitat Board member will speak.
Then, Laura Brown, the Charlotte County Habitat Family Services coordinator, call’s upon the new homeowner to speak, telling their own story of how they became a Habitat home owner. This is followed by several local businesses gifting the homeowners with special items for their new home, such as new toolkits from Home Depot or Lowe’s, a new tree and gardening tools from the Punta Gorda Garden Club, a complete first aid kit from the American Red Cross, a six-month subscription to the Charlotte Sun, a family Bible from Gospel Gifts and a hand-stitched wall hanging from the Golden Needle. The House Dedications are a time of real blessing to the new homeowner family.

Saw article about woman with two grand kids getting her house rebuilt. I didn't catch the names of the of the companies donating their time to rebuild the peoples home. We would like to support these comp. for helping support the community.
