I was an "accident"at birth. They were able to find parents for my brothers, but no one wanted me. They finally convinced a sad and lonely lady to take me on a "trial basis".
Hah! I knew I had her then!!! (but I was definitely a TRIAL!!!)
Since I was a mixed-breed, I was a little funny-looking. My ears were so big I had to turn my head to fit them in a photo! (photo #1).
Since I was born on Valentine's Day, God put a heart on my back! (photo #2).
When I was three years old, I got an aggressive type of cancer, which had started in my leg. Mommy was VERY sad. Fortunately, it hadn't reached very far in my body yet, and all they had to do was amputate my leg. I'm a tough little survivor, and I was up and walking the next day!!!
OK, here's a little doggie anatomy lesson for you: 60% of a dog's weight is carried in the front half (since the head is there), so it's harder on a dog to lose a front leg. That other front leg has to support 60% of a dog's weight all by itself!
That hasn't stopped me a bit, and I'm still really spunky!
When we go out on walks, mommy has a hard time keeping up with me! I LOVE going for walks, because I have made so many friends for blocks around. I'm the neighborhood sweetheart and an "unofficial" therapy dog. People and dogs love me as much as I love them (which is a LOT), and often tell me that I'm ALWAYS happy. What's not to be happy about?? I have great life and the best Mommie in the world! She thinks I'm a princess, and makes me feel like one (photo #3).
Some people think I was a "rescue", but Mommie will tell you SHE'S the one who was a "rescue"!
