The Charlotte County Young Professionals (CCYP) recently completed the inaugural quarter of their Philanthropic Giving Plan. The beneficiary of the three-month-long effort was the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County for whom CCYP raised several hundred dollars and a large amount of toys, food, and other pet-related items.

Jenifer Bettencourt, CCYP Treasurer and co-coordinator of the Philanthropic Giving Plan, stated, “I think it is really great that the first quarter went so well. I look forward to the plan continuing to grow and improve.”

On Saturday, July 19, CCYP members will present the donated goods and money to Deann Roberts, Executive Director of the Animal Welfare League.

The Philanthropic Giving Plan is a CCYP member initiative designed to support needy organizations in Charlotte County. The Giving Plan grew out of the desire of CCYP members to give back to deserving organizations within Charlotte County and those organizations were specifically selected by our members. A new charity is selected for each quarter by the membership and members are then encouraged to bring donations of goods or monetary support for the organizations to the monthly meetings. The Charlotte County Homeless Coalition has been selected as the beneficiary for the next quarter of the Philanthropic Giving Plan.

Charlotte County Young Professionals (CCYP) is a networking organization of dedicated and talented professionals in the age range of 21-40 who are active in the Charlotte County area. CCYP seeks to enrich our community by creating a platform for our members to build relationships, develop professionally, become philanthropically active, and contribute to the economic development and the high quality of life of our community.
