Bugsy is a 3 year old Rottie mix who I rescued from the Lee County Animal shelter when he was 8 weeks old. He came from an abusive owner but has since grown into the lovable dog he is today. He is a people and animal lover and has many friends. :) A little over a year ago, Bugsy was an actual hero; while walking with some of our neighbors, 8 year old Emily climbed a 3 story pile and was lost on top. We began frantically screaming but Emily could not hear our cries. I released Bugsy from his leash and told him to go find Emily and he proceeded to climb up the mountain. Within seconds, Emily was brought to the edge of the pile and reunited with her mother. Bugsy brings new meaning to "man's best friend" and deserves the title of "greatest Southwest dog."

It is amazing to see Bugsy balance the doggie cookie on his nose and wait. Although tempted to eat it I'm sure, he patiently waits for the command that it is OK to take it. Now THAT is self-control! What a gentle giant Bugsy is! Best of luck!
