Our Biggest Challenge Yet for Charlotte County Habitat - Port Charlotte, FL:
Our hammers are poised and ready to swing into action with the Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity Home Builders’ Blitz 2008. Builders Blitz 2008 is a partnership between Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity and the local building industry, to construct five homes in six days, with the Kick-off Rally on Monday, May 12, 2008, at 9 a.m., Taylor St, Port Charlotte, FL (between Lee Terrace and Lakeshore Circle, off of West Tarpon).
The builders on-board for this week-long monumental event are in agreement that “‘it is more blessed to give than to receive.' They are Paul Schaefer of Schaefer Homes LLC, Jerry Spurgeon, owner of Coastal Property Group, Kristen Marsella, owner of Marsella Enterprises, Inc, and Magnus Karlstedt, owner of MK Construction, who are donating their hard work and industry expertise to complete one home each, from framing to finish. Charlotte County Habitat is constructing the fifth house, and will provide all the land, complete all pre-construction work and supply all the materials for the build. The contractors, sub-contractors and trades people participating in the Home Builders Blitz 2008 will make the contribution of five completed homes, a reality for five families in need. The public is invited to join us at the House Dedications on Sunday, May 18th at 2 pm, on Taylor St, in Port Charlotte, as well as at the Kick-Off Rally on Monday, May 12th.
WE NEED YOU! If you'd like to volunteer in any way, to make these houses a reality for the families who will become the homeowners, you may contact Chrissy Bynum by e-mail at volunteers@charlottecountyhfh.org.
