Fisherman’s Village Hosts Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Appreciation Party - Thursday, March 13 saw an exuberant crowd of party-goers gathered in the Center Courtyard of Fisherman’s’ Village. Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity hosted the event, recognizing and honoring all of its dedicated volunteers. It was a sunny, early evening party, with soft breezes blowing in off the harbor. The use of this superb location, which was donated by Fisherman’s Village, was appreciated and enjoyed by all.
Live music filled the air, from the band ‘Mood Swing’, under the direction of Pete Stillwagon, who also graciously donated their services for the event. Their repertoire consisted of swing, jazz and pop.
The menu was a delightful collection of dishes from each of the restaurants at Fisherman’s Village, consisting of Baked Ziti from Bella Luna, Boneless Chicken Wings from Harpoon Harry’s, Steak Kabobs and Seafood Pastries from The Village Fish Market, Crab Rolls from the Village Oyster Bar, Cheddar Rolls from Red Lobster in Murdock and for dessert a rich two layer cake from Publix at Burnt Store Rd, all topped off by coffee from The Bean on 41, in Punta Gorda. All food was generously donated by these merchants.
To round the evening out, there were several door prize drawings, donated by various Charlotte County merchants. Gift donations came from the Bijoux Bead Studio, Caged Parrot, Caribongo, Dragonfly, JJ’s Top End, King Fisher Fleet, Limin’ Shack, The Serious Cookie Co, The Wash Basin, and Tropical Reflections, all located in Fisherman’s Village, as well as Allie’s Sandwich Factory and Cubby’s in Punta Gorda, and Mrs McDougall's Roastinghouse Coffee and Sweet’s Diner in Port Charlotte.
