This year’s Celebrate Bonita! Festival will take place on Saturday, April 5 at Riverside Park from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The City of Bonita Springs’ 9th birthday promises to be an exciting full day of family-oriented events, kids’ activities, a variety of food and refreshments, and high-energy entertainment.
A 5K and Kids’ Fun Run sponsored by Rotary will kick off the day at 7 a.m. Opening ceremonies begin at 11 a.m. at the Park with an introduction by the Mayor and entertainment by local school bands.
Throughout the day, Bonita residents and guest will enjoy food from popular local restaurants and fare from local cooking talent who will showcase their creations in the sanctioned chili cook-off and rib cook-off.
The children’s area will feature two bounce houses, a maze, funhouse and 30-foot rock wall. Plus, entertainer Wade Henry will perform juggling and comedy acts. Joey’s clowns will also make a comeback appearance.
Headlining entertainment begins with talented and energetic Little Texas. The group’s hits include “What Might Have Been” and “My Love.” Following Little Texas, the nationally known, mega award-winning Bellamy Brothers will take the stage and play their well-known hits including “Let Your Love Flow” and more from the 46 albums they have recorded.
Admission to Celebrate Bonita! is free to the entire community, and a portion of the proceeds from food and beverages benefits the Bonita Assistance Office. Guests are welcome to bring their own lawn chair and enjoy the festivities. Riverside Park is located in the historic district of Bonita Springs on Old 41 and Pennsylvania Avenue.
