Second tropical storm named; Bill joins Ana in the Atlantic

MIAMI, Fla. (AP) - Hurricane hunting aircraft found that Tropical Storm Ana was poorly organized and barely a named storm with 40 mph winds as it headed toward the Leeward Islands in the Atlantic.

MIAMI (AP) - Tropical Storm Bill has formed in the far eastern Atlantic and the government of the Netherland Antilles has issued a
tropical storm watch for St. Maarten, Saba and St. Eustatius because of Tropical Storm Ana.
 

The National Hurricane Center said Saturday that Ana had maximum sustained winds of near 40 mph and is quickly moving west near 17 mph.

It's about 800 miles east-southeast of the Leeward Islands.
 

The Hurricane Center says residents there and in the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico should monitor Ana's progress.
 

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Bill also has maximum sustained winds near 40 mph and is moving west near 16 mph.

It's expected to get stronger in the next 24 hours and is about 820 miles west-southwest of the Cape Verde Islands.
 

Tropical depression three has strengthened becoming Tropical Storm Bill, according to the National Hurricane Center's latest advisory.

The storm is the second named storm to form in the Atlantic.

Tropical Storm Ana strengthened early Saturday.
