Could global warming make hurricanes stronger?

Scientists, researchers scheduled to discuss global warming at hurricane conference

By The Associated Press

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Scientists and researchers today are expected to debate whether global warming could be making hurricanes stronger.

It's all part of the Governor's Hurricane Conference, which has been going on this week in Fort Lauderdale.

Earlier this week, Governor Charlie Crist and Craig Fugate, the state's chief of emergency management, warned Floridians to be prepared for the upcoming hurricane season. They emphasized the need to stock up on supplies and be prepared, despite two previous slow storm seasons.
