Dolphins make a move after learning Pennington won't play again

By Associated Press

The Dolphins No. 1 quarterback is done for the
season.

Winless Miami has placed Chad Pennington on the reserve-injured
list to create a roster spot for quarterback Tyler Thigpen, who was
acquired from the Kansas City Chiefs for an undisclosed draft pick.

Pennington was hurt in Sunday's loss at San Diego and likely
faces a third operation on his right shoulder since 2005.

Thigpen adds depth behind second-year pro Chad Henne,
who is expected to make his first NFL start Sunday against Buffalo.
Rookie Pat White is the Dolphins' other QB.

Thigpen is a third-year pro. He started 11 games for the woeful
Chiefs last year and threw for 2,608 yards with 18 touchdowns and
12 interceptions.
