SOUTHWEST FLORIDA - High School football playoffs kicked off Friday around the Florida. Two teams in Charlotte and Fort Myers don't have many secrets from each other. They met in October for a 31-0 Charlotte win.
A playoff win would be big for Fort Myers, it would also make the school the winningest program in Florida history. The Architect of many of those wins Sam Sirianni, Sr. His statue put up earlier this season. This one was all Tarpons 41-7. They will take on the winner of Venice and Cape Coral. Venice 35 beat Cape Coral 14.
Dunbar was hosting Lely. It was the first home playoff game since Dunbar re-opened in 2000. The Tigers win at home 39 to 30. They face the winner of Riverdale and Naples. Naples rolls 61-23 and will host Dunbar next week. Barron Collier hosting Hallandale, and fall 28-10.
