Spoelstra set to open first camp with Miami Heat

By The Associated Press

MIAMI (AP) - It's not in Erik Spolestra's contract, but he has an unspoken agreement with the Miami Heat. For one week every summer, without fail, he gets to attend a family reunion in Hawaii.

On this year's trip, the rookie Heat coach found a new obsession: Paddleboarding.

Spoelstra says he wasn't just riding the waves. He was also thinking about his plans for the team.

The 37-year-old opens his first training camp as an NBA head coach on Saturday.
