MIAMI (AP) - A judge will not rule on the financing plan for a new Florida Marlins ballpark until Oct. 2.
Miami Circuit Judge Jeri Beth Cohen said Monday she will wait to issue a final ruling in the case until the rehearing period for a key decision from the Florida Supreme Court ends.
Cohen had already been waiting for the state's high court to reach a decision on the issue.
The state's high court ruled last week it made a mistake a year ago by requiring voter approval for billions of dollars worth of local redevelopment projects.
Auto dealer Norman Braman's lawsuit contends the proposal improperly diverts money intended to fix urban blight and it should be put to a public vote.
