Jaguars's Collier on injured list after shooting

By The Associated Press

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - The Jacksonville Jaguars placed shooting-victim Richard Collier on the reserve/non-football injury list today and signed offensive tackle Charles Spencer to take his spot on the active roster.

Collier was shot several times while sitting in his sports utility vehicle early Tuesday and remained in critical condition a day later. He was the team's primary backup tackle, so the Jaguars spent two days working out players and trying to fill the void.

Spencer was a third-round draft pick by Houston in 2006. The former Pittsburgh standout started the first two games of his rookie season before breaking his leg and missing the rest of the year. He sat out all of last season while on the physically unable to perform list and was waived July 22.
