Red Sox pitcher Schilling undergoing normal rehab

RANDOLPH, Mass. (AP) - Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling says he's started to rehabilitate his right shoulder after surgery, but hasn't decided whether to try to play again.

Schilling, already out for this season, said Monday it will be at least five weeks before he must decide whether to make a run at returning for 2009. His right arm in a sling, he said his shoulder is "sorer than I expected it to be."

Schilling made his first public appearance since his surgery last month on the tendon and labrum in his shoulder. He was a charity event on behalf of the Shade Foundation founded by his wife, Shonda, a skin cancer survivor.
