Kearse arrested, charged with DUI

By WINK Sports

Nashville, TN - Jevon Kearse has brought a lot of pride to his friends, fans, and family during his football career, but it appears he tripped up early Sunday morning.

The North Fort Myers HS grad was arrested and later charged with driving under the influence, after police stopped his car near Vanderbilt University.

According to the Nashville Tennessean, the arresting officer's report says Kearse was stopped around 4:42 a.m. because his SUV was speeding and swerving.

After the traffic stop, police say Kearse's eyes were red and watery, and that he smelled like alcohol.

The report says Kearse then failed a field sobriety test, and refused a breathalyzer test.

At that point, he was taken to the Nashville Criminal Justice Center, where he was released after posting a $1,000 bond.

Kearse has a court date set for July 14.
