Scott Zedeker
Meteorologist
After graduating from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Science, Scott moved to Boston to work at WSI, a weather corporation that builds weather systems for on-air graphic work.
Later, Scott relocated to the Los Angeles area to work at UPN where he produced the weather segments. He started his on-air career at KEYT in Santa Barbara, California. Scott brings with him a great deal of knowledge and experience with graphic presentations. Scott really enjoys the different types of weather we have in southwest Florida, and has been working at WINK over 9 years now - covering hurricanes Charley, Wilma and tropical storm Fay.
In 2004, Scott earned the prestigious American Meteorologist Society seal of approval, and later in 2010 was awarded the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation by the American Meteorological Society. This award is given to degreed meteorologists who exhibit extensive weather knowledge and communication skills.
Scott grew up in Dublin, Ohio (a suburb of Columbus), but spent some summer months of his youth in the Bonita Beach area. Our Southwest Florida weather and summer thunderstorms always fascinated him. He believes that in addition to providing a forecast, television weather should be entertaining, animated and visually pleasing.
In his spare time, Scott is an avid golfer and plays in many local tournaments around southwest Florida and is a member of the FSGA. You may also see him around town on his Harley, participating in bike events through out the year. If no storms are threatening, he will make it to Sturgis, SD for the motorcycle rally -- a trip that he has done 5 times now. Of course, on football Saturdays he roots loudly for his Buckeyes! Go bucks!!
