Man charged in Fla. for allegedly throwing kittens

By The Associated Press

LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) - A 66-year-old man was charged with animal cruelty after allegedly throwing kittens out of his truck near Lakeland.

Witnesses told investigators the man ran over one small cat and threw another out his passenger window Wednesday morning. Deputies say the witnesses confronted the man after following him to a farm supply store.

Investigators found a sign in the man's truck saying "Free Kittens - 1 Mile."

Deputies found one cat dead and another alive. A third kitten was still missing.
