COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. - Collier County employees are accused of sending porn on county computers.
A total of 40 employees with the public utilities division could be in a lot of trouble.
WINK News has received a copy of an e-mail on the issue from County Manager Jim Mudd. In it, Mudd describes the allegations to County commissioners and says those allegations violate county procedures.
"This is not the sort of behavior that I will tolerate," Mudd told commissioners.
People we talked to in Collier agree.
James Walden says, "They know the difference between right and wrong. They're adults. They shouldn't have a job. I'm sure there's someone else in the county who could take their job and do it right."
County rules also say employees who even get a pornographic image in their email have to report that, or they'll get in trouble.
People in Collier say the investigation is the right thing to do.
"You have to investigate every questionable thing if its true, then something should be done.," Gerry Cutter tells WINK News.
The Collier County attorney and human resources departments are investigating the accusations.
Collier County officials would not say if anyone has been punished yet.
Mudd says appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken when the investigation is complete. Exactly what those actions will be in unknown.
Larry LeFeu says, "I don't like people doing that and I think they should pursue that and if they're guilty of that, then I think they should be dismissed."

They all should be fired. They know the policy, they know they are there to work and last but not least they know it is wrong. No ands, ifs or buts replace all involved in porn.

I am retired from a state position and a few higher ups have been caught with porn on their state computers. They have suffered the consequences, no longer working with the state, some have lost pensions. I cannot imagine emailing porn @ work much less @ home. We were even cautioned about the jokes we received, especially from outside. I believe there is a time & place for everything; People call me a prude but, my opinion is that porn belongs in the trash......PERIOD!!! That is

I need a job. I'm honest and trustworthy. They should fire those people and hire people who are going to do the job better.
