Storm Smart Industries launched a new program called "We Care."

This program gives a deserving family *free* storm protection for their home.

Today, about a dozen men were out here putting up hurricane shutters for free!

Taking a look at Todd and Shannon Barber it's obvious they have their hands full, with newborn triplets.

"We're amazed. We feel very blessed," said Todd Barber.

Since the triples were born, the Barbers re-prioritized their lives and realized they weren't prepared for a hurricane.

"we had no idea what we were going to do," he said.

Todd was going to get hurricane shutters, but since his triplets were born three months premature he had mountain of medical bills.

"It was on our to do list of things, home repairs... But these guys come first as far as cost," Shannon and Todd said referring to their children.

But today they're getting the shutters they want and need.

Here's how it all happened.

While watching TV one night...

"We saw it on your news program, WINK," Todd said.

Todd saw a commercial from Storm Smart Industries about the "We Care" program, which gives away free hurricane shutters to a family.

"We thought it was a shot in the dark," Todd said.

But he wrote a letter to the company nominating his family anyway.

Todd told them he's a firefighter and fears if there's a hurricane, he'd get stuck working, leaving his wife and children at home without proper protection.

His story was enough to win over Storm Smart Industries.

"We wanted to help them out. He's not going to be here. He's going to be helping the rest of us if a hurricane happens," said Brian Rist, President of Storm Smart Industries.

The company will be picking one family a month for the remainder of hurricane season.

You can nominate yourself or someone else.

The only rule is the nominee has to own their home.
