COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. - Deputies arrested a 51-year-old Collier County School District teacher Tuesday on charges that he had sex with a student.

Robert A. Hamberg, of North Naples, was charged with seven felony counts of lewd and lascivious battery on a child.

Hamberg is charged with having sex with a student at Gulf Coast High School, where he is the band director, and at his residence, according to sheriff’s reports.

All of the incidents happened this year, reports said.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the victim’s identity due to the sexual nature of the charges.

Deputies executed a search warrant at Hamberg’s residence Tuesday and arrested him, reports said.

He was booked into the Collier County jail late Tuesday afternoon.
