Stilwell investigation on hold

By WINK News

LEE COUNTY, Fla. - The formal investigation into the Lee County manager is on hold, for at least 2 weeks.

WINK News has confirmed, that county leaders have decided they should have a formal vote of commissioners, to authorize a look into Don Stilwell's investments.

The manager has said he put $200-thousand dollars into companies, run by his son-in-law, who's now charged with defrauding investors.

Commissioners want to know, did Stilwell knowingly invest money in property that the county might need for a road? And did he mislead commissioners, when questioned about his investments?

The special meeting to authorize the investigation is supposed to be held, in two weeks.

I dont care what stillwell did or didnt do, atleast he backs county workers! You have two county commissioners that are just miserable pieces of trash. Let's do something about them!

This isn't the first time Mr Stilwell's judgement has been in question. Seems like typical political behaviour amongst the "good ole boys". Most don't get caught, seems Mr Stillwell has some enemies or is very unlucky.

I DON'T LIKE THIS. SOUNDS LIKE A COVERUP ABOUT TO TAKEOFF. I WONDER SOMETIMES WHO IS BEING PAID OFF OR IS THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ACTUALLY DOING THEIR JOB THE CORRECT WAY. I HOPE THE CORRECT WAY IS LEGAL.

I smell a whitewash/coverup just over the horizon.
