Attempted rape suspect caught

FORT MYERS, Fla. - WINK News was first on the scene as Fort Myers police arrested a man wanted for attempted rape.

Our own Kyle Jordan was at the scene when the man was taken into custody just off of Michigan Avenue in East Fort Myers shortly after 7:00, this morning.

A police officer chased the man away from the woman. The man eluded the officer and hid in the neighborhood for about 90 minutes.

Officers used a helicopter and K9 units to track him down.
