A Cape home in foreclosure goes up in flames

By Maggie Crane, WINK News

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - A Cape home in foreclosure goes up in flames.

Fire investigators are trying to figure out how the fire started at 15-26 SW 19th Place.

Homeowner Barbara Taylor and her 1-year-old daughter can't stay there tonight.

Taylor tells WINK News she actually heard the fire in a front bedroom and tried to put it out herself before she called 911. The fire started in the bottom of a bedroom closet, according to Taylor.

Taylor's real estate agent tell us the family is in the process of moving out.

Firefighters can't say whether this could be a case of foreclosure arson; they're investigating this house fire as they would any other.
