WINK News Anchors lead MS Walks around Southwest Florida

By WINK News

FORT MYERS, Fla. & NAPLES, Fla. - All around Southwest Florida on Saturday people were out, raising awareness for multiple sclerosis.

WINK News anchor Stacy Adams kicked-off the 10th Annual Lee County Multiple Sclerosis walk.

She was with hundreds of people, lacing-up their sneakers for the six mile trek at Lakes Park.

Each participant donated at least $50.00 toward M.S. research.

In Collier County, WINK News Anchor Trey Radel let-out a big yell, as he started M.S. Walk in Lowdermilk Park.

Thousands of people gathered there as well, showing their support for multiple sclerosis awareness.

Karen Dresbach is the President of the Nation Sclerosis Society. She explains what the group does, "We provide programs and services and extensive research all over the country."

Dresbach continues to explain why the walks are necessary. "We need the involvement of the community, we need for them to give back and we partner together to make sure that we provide the programs that are needed here in Naples and Fort Myers."

The walks in Southwest Florida were part of half a dozen around the state.
