TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Two Tampa teens are being treated for minor injuries after an altercation with neighbors wielding machetes.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, a 15-year-old needed 18 stitches for a gash from a thrown glass dish. A 13-year-old's nose was broken by a brick.
Arrested were Mirtha Mesidor and her neighbor Jean Desrosiers. Both are charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon for striking the two teens during a fight.
Reports say the fight stems from a dispute between the teens and Mesidor's children. The report also says Mesidor accidentally struck the 13-year old with a brick after aiming for her neighbor.
Other objects were also thrown when Desrosiers and others came out with machetes.
Bail is set at $7,500 each.
