FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - The latest hurricane forecast from a researcher at Colorado State University is still predicting 17 major storms in the Atlantic hurricane season.
William Gray's newest forecast is predicting nine hurricanes, with five of them being intense storms. He also says there is a 74 percent chance a major hurricane will make landfall on the US coast.
The forecast is largely unchanged from his team's forecast released in early April.
The hurricane season starts tomorrow and runs through November.
