Collier County - Two Collier County deputies lose their jobs after two suspects were choked while in their custody, and for the first time the Collier Sheriff is talking about it.

Sheriff Don Hunter says two of his deputies lost their jobs and two other men were also punished for their involvement.

Here's what we know... In September of 2006 the Collier County Sheriff's Office professional responsibility bureau began an investigation into a report that Deputy Sergio Covarrubias had choked two men who were handcuffed. According to the Sheriff's Office those men did not sustain serious injuries.

Corporal Covarrubias was fired after the investigation showed that he did choke those two men.

A second deputy Corporal Roger Trudel was also fired for not telling the truth about what he had witnessed.

The Sheriff's office says Trudel even used special breathing techniques to falsify the results of a polygraph test.

Two other deputies were put on eight months probation for failing to report what happened.
