CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. - Law enforcement officers spotted the man and woman in a county car. They had parked on a deserted road in the woods of Murdock Village.
Reports say both were suppose to be working at the time, instead they were engaged in sexual relations.
The Charlotte Sun says the man involved, a utilities foreman, Wade Byington has resigned from his job.
His letter of resignation says, he is quitting for personal reasons.
The unnamed woman, a biologist for the county, is appealing to keep her job.
"We have a standard we expect our employees to meet of trustworthiness. I am always disappointed when I hear that they may have been any inappropriate behavior on the part of our employees," said Charlotte County Administrator Roger Baltz.
"This is not the thing to do, and they know that," said Port Charlotte resident Karen McCann. She also said, "I'm mad, yea it makes you mad that you have to pay for the time they are working and they are not doing their job."
