Driver hits utility pole, takes off

By WINK News

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Fort Myers Police are looking for the driver who smashed his vehicle into a utility pole overnight.

It happened around 1:40 a.m. on Second Street, near Cranford Ave. When police arrived on scene they approached cautiously, not knowing whether the lines knocked down by the crash were live.

After about an hour responders approached the car and saw that the driver had bailed out after the crash.

There are scattered outages as a result, which FPL says may not be fixed until 10 a.m.
