Lee County, Fla -- A Lehigh Acres woman walked outside to find her car scratched, dented and covered in slobber and fur.
"We were basically dumbfounded," said Ashley Alvarez. "We had no idea what happened."
At first Lee County Deputies believed a bear damaged the car, but Florida Fish and Wildlife officers weren't so sure. Initially, they thought it was caused by a bobcat, coyote or even a wild dog. But at this point, they have no clue.
Whatever it was -- the animal gnawed through the side of a Honda, flattened two of the car's tires and left blood on the bumper. Wildlife officers think the animal could have been trying to get to a cat that crawled inside the hood of the car.
Fish and Wildlife biologists search the woman's yard and nearby woods to find any tracks. They weren't able to find anything that would identify the mystery animal.
"I don't know what to be afraid of when I let my kids play," said Alvarez. "I don't know what's out here to get him."
