Search For Pilar Rodriguez Suspended

By WINK News

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, FL.-Just after 11 a.m. Thursday, Sheriff Bill Cameron called suspended the search for the remains of missing toddler Pilar Rodriguez.

Rodriguez went missing in 1999 after a trip to Charlotte County with her babysitter, Melissa Cooper.

No arrests have been made in the cold case but a recent tip led detectives to an 8 acre property near US 17 where the family of the babysitter's boyfriend once lived.

The sheriff's office confirmed that they did gather valuable information from this search but did not find the body of Rodriguez who they believe is dead.
