She was just three years old when she disappeared ten years ago.
Now agents scouring an empty field, focusing on the area that could break this case open.
It has been more than a decade since little Pilar Rodriguez disappeared.
Now Sheriffs deputies have received a tip that they believe may finally lead them to the little girl. But the search they say is only beginning.
The day began with hope and anticipation.
"We recently got some information that led us to believe that we might have a reason to look on this property," said Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Cameron.
Family members of the original suspect Keith Wilson still live on the property.
It was searched early on in the original investigation but new information brought investigators back in full force this morning. Armed with a search warrant they went to work.
"We have Marion County Sheriff's here because they have specific cadaver alerting dogs we also have representatives from FWC, who has a cadaver dog with him. There is a company called NecroSearch that has ground-penetrating radar should we come across something that will give us an additional lead of where to search," said Sheriff Cameron.
The day ended with disappointment. But investigators say they are far from done.
"We have not found anything. But, we are only at the very start of this," said Bob Carpenter Public Information Officer for the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office.
