NAPLES, Fla. - The Collier County School District will now join Lee County schools in looking into the district's relationship with Office Depot.
A district spokesman says given the situation in Lee County, the superintendent now wants to review their district's dealings with Office Depot.
Last week, Lee County schools announced it was auditing its past contracts for office supplies. It follows whistleblower claims made by a former Office Depot account manager; David Sherwin of Fort Myers claims the company overcharged government agencies by tens of thousands of dollars. some agencies, including Lee County, have received a credits from the company, and some have also severed ties with Office Depot.
Right now, the Collier School District says there's no evidence they're owed money, but the district will ask for a refund if the review finds it necessary.
