PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - A woman accused of performing sex acts on her baby daughter was arrested Thursday afternoon.

We are not naming the young mom to protect the identity of her child. WINK News rquested an interview with her to get her side of the story, but jail guards say she got violent with them and had to be restrained.

The woman's boyfriend, Glenn Nelson, was arrested Wednesday for also participating in the sex crimes. The two are in the same jail.

Glenn Nelson confessed. He told WINK News he was not guilty of unthinkable crimes during a jailhouse interview Wednesday night, but in newly obtained documents, the 59-year-old confessed to detectives of "performing sexual acts on several occasions with his girlfriend's baby."

"I can't believe it," a neighbor of the woman says.

Deputies said the mother of the 18-month-old also participated in the sex acts. Her neighbors are stunned.

"She didn't seem like that type of person, but who knows? You can't ever tell about people."

People living near the mother say she appeared to be a good mom.

"It just upsets me terribly ,and (the baby is) a beautiful little girl. It just makes me sad if that's what's going on."

"The baby always seemed happy so it catches me off guard to hear something like that."

Neighbors also said the woman has a brain injury and sometimes she acts confused. For the most part, they say she is a nice person who keeps to herself.

"I spoke with her about her baby and she was very pleasant to talk to. She minded her own business."

The baby girl will stay with her maternal grandparents and will still have visitation rights with her biological father.

According to new documents, deputies have been investigating the crimes for two weeks. More charges could be forthcoming.
