11 DUI arrests made in Charlotte County over the weekend
CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. - Eleven arrests were made in Charlotte County over the weekend, all charged with DUI. Two of them were involved in crashes.
CCSO deputies arrested seven of the 11 for DUI while Punta Gorda Police had three, and Florida Highway Patrol had one arrest. Five of those arrested were from Port Charlotte, two each from North Port and Rotonda West, and one each from Punta Gorda and Englewood; of the 11, two were women. CCSO law enforcement will continue to look for those driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs. In 2007 there were 612 DUI arrests in Charlotte County.
