Inventor of possible cancer cure dies

FORT MYERS, Fla. - John Kanzius, a part time Sanibel Island resident died Wednesday afternoon at Health Park Hospital in South Fort Myers.

He was a retired Erie television and radio station owner and engineer.

Kanzius grabbed the world’s attention by inventing a device that kills cancer cells.

Kanzius died from pneumonia, a complication from two rounds of chemotherapy he had recently undergone.

Kanzius was 64.
