CAPE CORAL, Fla. - A shooting disrupted a Cape Coral neighborhood Sunday afternoon. Robert Tofini was shot in the chest near the corner of Skyline Boulevard and Cape Coral Parkway just after 2:00 p.m.
Three men have been arrested and charged with attempted murder. Those men are Raymond King, Brandon Steed, and Bradley Rogosweski. Reports say King admitted to the shooting, Steed was driving the vehicle, and Rogosweski had the handgun. Cape Coral PD said the shooting was drug related.
Neighbor Jeanne Brennan was just getting home when one suspect was being arrested. She said she saw, "A lot of police cars... I see a guy in handcuffs and I can't believe what's going on."
She can't believe that a man was shot in broad daylight right around the corner - in the 4900 block of Skyline Boulevard.
She said, "It's scary, especially when you don't know what the circumstances are or what caused it."
Brennan moved to Cape Coral from the north. She thought it would be living in paradise, but now, she's not so sure. Minutes before she got home, the shooting victim ran right by her house, and about a mile down the road to get help at a gas station.
Another neighbor, Kimm Whitton said, "When we came across the 7-Eleven we saw cop cars and the gas station was all marked off and a gentleman was standing up against the wall. We didn't know what was going on."
She saw even more when she got home.
"When I came home I noticed cop cars across the street."
The suspects car was found, and he was cuffed and arrested, but homeowners living in a neighborhood where they say traffic is their biggest problem, are still left unsettled.
