CAPE CORAL, Fla. - The intersection at Santa Barbara Boulevard and Nicholas Parkway was closed Saturday morning.

Crews are trying to fix the traffic signal damaged Friday.

A transformer at the intersection of Santa Barbara Boulevard and Nicholas Parkway blew Friday evening, resulting in a fire damaged the traffic signal at the intersection.

Lee County Electric Cooperative fixed the transformer, however the traffic signal is going to take about 16-18 hours to bring back online.

Police detoured traffic away from the intersection about one block away in all directions. The intersection is now open.
