LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - A sad ending to a story that WINK News has been covering for the past two weeks. Turana Dickerson, 19 of Lehigh Aces, died from the injuries she sustained in a Lehigh Acres car accident on October 29th.

Dickerson was walking to her bus stop when she was struck.

The accident happened on Bell Boulevard when 20-year-old James Geisler of Fort Myers hit Dickerson with his car.

Geisler is facing charges of failure to maintain lane, no proof of insurance at traffic crash, and unknowingly driving while license suspended. There is no word if Geisler will face any additional charges since Dickerson has died.

Currently, Dickerson's family and teachers are working to put together a memorial fund.
